Shape is the outline and general form of the gemstone. Gems can be cut or faceted in many ways, adding to the overall look and shape of a stone. Some shapes you might be familiar with are round, oval, pear, princess, and emerald - to name a few.

Gem Color:
For diamonds, this measurement actually refers to lack of color: the less color, the higher the value. For our conventional diamonds we use GIA’s Normal Color Range Scale starting with D, colorless, and getting increasingly a more natural, colorful tint until the letter Z. The exception to this scale is fancy color diamonds (pinks, blues, purples, and yellows for example) and our colored gems. Click here to learn more.
Gem Clarity:
Clarity is a determination of the absence of features, blemishes (surface flaws), and/or inclusions (internal defects) that might affect a stone’s appearance. For diamonds, this can range from I clarity stones with obvious inclusions to Flawless Diamonds that are incredibly rare with no internal or external blemishes. Click here to learn more.
